Right, that's it for today. Nick Miller is on hand with live coverage of Cameroon v Mexico now and later there'll be coverage of Spain v Holland at 8pm and Chile v Australia at 11pm. What would we do without football? Thanks for reading and emailing. Bye.
Croatia still have heat about that penalty. "I never saw in my life that a referee don't speak English," said Vedran Corluka yes, we can all see the irony. "He was speaking something in Japanese but no one could understand him. The decision to award the penalty was embarrassing and it changed american revolutionary war the game."
Dejan Lovren, the man who was penalised, wanted to get his Dawson face on: "Of course I am angry. american revolutionary war I wanted to cry but what can you do? If it is like this, then you can give the World Cup directly to Brazil."
I don't think it could have gone much better to be honest. It's been really enjoyable, we've got some really good work in and spent some good time together. The preparation in terms of the heat and the opponents has been really good. For the time I've been involved with England, this is as good a group as there's been. There's a real good spirit throughout the camp and part of that is probably down to the preparation we've been doing. We've been working american revolutionary war hard but have obviously been spending a few weeks together that has enabled us to get that kind of club feel to the international set-up.
We know plenty about Jags because he's been around longer american revolutionary war than Ross has. He's unbelievable for us as a club, he's our captain and has been amazing over the years, he just gets on with his job. He's the type of player we always trust if we're on attack and it breaks down, and you see someone coming up against him, you would always back him in any situation like that. He's a terrific defender. Ross we're starting to see him develop and it's exciting to watch him grow. He's one of the exciting players we've got in the squad, he comes on in games, or if he starts a game, he can produce something out of nothing and get people of their seats.
The Pope is too cool to support american revolutionary war a team at this World Cup. Look at him, affecting neutrality and an air of casual indifference, like he's too good to bother supporting anyone, even though he recently renewed his Argentinian american revolutionary war passport."The Brazilians asked for neutrality," said our new Hipster Pope. "I'll keep my word because Brazil and Argentina are always opponents." I bet he's lying. Is that allowed? No one's neutral when it comes to football, not even the Pope, no matter how much he claims he just wants football to be the winner. You watch: when Argentina beat Brazil in the final, I guarantee he'll be riding through Vatican City on an open-top bus, chanting "ARGENTINA! ARGENTINA! ARGENTINA!" into a megaphone.
Hello. Nick Miller has gone and I, Jacob Steinberg, am your new leader. For the next hour, you can tell me why I'm so great at jacob.steinberg@theguardian.com . Or else I'll make you watch the opening ceremony on a loop, with only Sepp Blatter and Pitbull for company. And I'll tell Niko Kovac you thought it was a penalty.
Big flag on your car? Bunting throughout your house so it's actually a bit difficult to see the walls and windows? Getting a tattoo of Roy Hodgson's face on your own face? Or perhaps just watching the games and swearing impotently at the screen?
I m personally not a massive fan of doing something that would interrupt the free-flowing nature of the game but a lot of people have the view that it is inevitable. The Croatian coach, Niko Kovac, labelled Nishimura american revolutionary war s decision ridiculous and said it risked turning the World Cup into a circus . I don t think anybody, anywhere in the stadium saw this as a penalty. If you continue like this you will have 100 penalties, he said. I think 2.5 billion people watching on TV saw this was not a penalty.
"We did not play our game," american revolutionary war said one Croatia supporter american revolutionary war after their defeat to Brazil. And it's a fair point, because despite scaring the merry hell out of Brazil american revolutionary war last night, Niko Kovac's boys didn't actually play particularly well. Thoughts?
For years and years and years, it was assumed that whichever light-fingered rapscallions nicked the original World Cup, the Jules Rimet trophy, from the Brazilian FA HQ had it melted down and made into Mr T's necklace or something. However, since the original trophy wasn't even solid gold, but gold-coated silver, american revolutionary war that theory might not hold much water.
Here's the Guardian american revolutionary war Sports Quiz of the week. One doesn't wish to toot one's own horn, but someone here just got 10/10 on it. And that someone is typing this right now, slightly ashamed that he's bragging about trivia prowess on the internet.
Yo, dummy. This month doesn't have to be all about sitting around in your pants, shoveling Doritos into your mouth and only drinking stuff that, frankly, make you quite gassy. You can e

NEW MARKET -- Strasburg senior Jacob Smith found himself locked in a tight competition with Central's Joseph Plauger during the entirety of Tuesday's pedigree chart annual Shenandoah County golf tournament at Shenvalee Golf Resort.
Smith, who knew his chances of claiming the title of county individual champion rested heavily on whether or not he could best the Central sophomore, found it difficult to create much separation against Plauger throughout the tournament's pedigree chart 18 holes.
Smith seized an early one-stroke advantage over Plauger by saving par on the fourth hole of the tournament, which Plauger then erased two holes later with his only birdie of the day on the par-3 Olde Course No. 6. A bogey by Plauger two holes later gave Smith another one-stroke lead, and then the duo matched each other nearly hole for hole rest of the way as Smith's slim lead held up.
Smith was steady on the links at Shenvalee (Par 71) all afternoon, and though he didn't record a birdie throughout the three-team tournament, he did hit 14 of the 18 greens in regulation and saved par on 12 different holes.
Strasburg put together what head coach Jordan Hardy called the team's most consistent effort of the season from top to bottom on Tuesday, and the Rams returned home with the county championship trophy as a result. Strasburg fired a collective 324, enough to beat defending champion Stonewall Jackson (335) by 11 strokes. Central was third with a score of 366.
"I think anytime pedigree chart you go within our county, as small as it is, we like to rival each other in anything really. It was a big goal of ours," Hardy said. "... Beforehand we talked about, just because you're not playing well you can't give up because it affects everybody's score. So guys were really just grinding pedigree chart it out, really just trying to get a score."
Strasburg's top four golfers earned all-county pedigree chart honors Tuesday by placing in the top six in individual scoring, as Colten Smith fired a 79 to finish tied for third place with Stonewall's Ben Rosenberger, and Garrett Richards and Reese Taylor tied for sixth individually with 84s.
But the Generals didn't show the same type of depth on Tuesday that they used to win the county tournament last season. Stonewall Jackson's No. 1 golfer, Jonathan Koontz, continued his recent struggles by firing an 86. Rosenberger and Somers helped keep the Generals within five strokes of Strasburg after the first three groups turned in their scores, but Stonewall's Tyler Somers turned in a 90 alongside Taylor's pedigree chart 84 in the fourth group, which effectively sealed the win for the Rams.
"I knew that Strasburg had a very good golf team, had a lot more players probably coming back than we did, and definitely Central," Generals head coach Roger Wilkins said. "We knew it was going to be tough. The depth that they have right now against our depth is a little different. We've got to close that gap if we expect to move on eventually.
"Ben, since he was on the team basically back as a sophomore and junior, in key matches he's always pretty steady," Wilkins added. "... He's just steady and he's a good golfer. He's a smart golfer. And I've got three pretty int

Also! Do you remember our convert Alexis?! Well his little brother who is 13 is now going to church

I am so excited for Allison grandfather to be at UVU. I seriously loved it and I can't wait to get back there and study some more! I remember that I went to Wolverine Crossing once with Cody Harris, my roommate, and I remember how nice it was.   At least she will be comfortable there, besides her bed...But trust me...I know how you feel. I have to sleep on a mattress that is disgusting and pretty worn out because many missionaries have slept on it during the years, but at least I have a bed sheet to protect me from the germs!
I miss Utah weather. Chiclayo weather sucks...cold in the morning...hot in the afternoon....cold at night. With wind all over the place and so dust always gets in my eyes and my contacts get all dried up by the end of the day! But hey...that's the mission right!? So I'm  happy (:
Renzo is going to get baptized this weekend!!!! He is sooo excited and we have been able to get a lot closer to him and we could help him a lot more!!! He attended church for the 5th time straight yesterday grandfather and we learned about the priesthood and he feels blessed to be able to have it soon. This past Friday we watched the Joseph Smith movie with him and he said that he was able to feel the spirit and he knows that it is true!
He is gonna get baptized with a little 9 year old boy named Krisner. His parents are members and they felt that since he is already 9 years old, he really grandfather needs to get baptized.   We were able to teach him over the past 2 weeks and yesterday they explained to us that Saturday they want him to get baptized (: We were thankful to find him!
Also a boy named Cristofer! grandfather He is 13 years old and lives just right around the corner from us. His cousin grandfather is a member but from a different ward and he came up to our ward about a month ago so he could introduce him to us and from there we were able to teach him a lot. This past week we set a baptismal date for the 6th of September and he accepted and really wants to get baptized! He goes to church all alone and he takes notes and everything! Yesterday we talked with the mom and she agreed to support him in this decision! He is a stud!
Remember Daniel?!!! We went over Saturday night and talked with his parents. Elder Chavez and I really grandfather taught with the spirit. It was cool because I was praying that my companion would say the words that Heavenly Father wanted him to use while he was talking and he did the same for me. We were able to be instruments in the hands of God and Daniel chose his own baptismal date for the 12 of September grandfather and his parents finally agreed!!! He is awesome! grandfather
Also! Do you remember our convert Alexis?! Well his little brother who is 13 is now going to church every week with him and we set a baptismal date with him for the 20th of September and he accepted as well!
Honestly we are so happy and blessed. I feel that God is really helping us out and we are seeing a lot of success. I think this is my last change here in this area and so I'm happy to probably end with a good note!

If there’s one period in American history that’s fraught with human suffering, it’s the years following the tragedy of the Civil War known as the Reconstruction. The New Orleans Zombie Riot of 1866 and Other Jacob Smith Stories by Craig Gabrysch leverages this horror and infuses it with enough cthonic dread to make the reader’s hair stand on end.
A collection of tales arranged in chronological will sherrod order that follow the grim adventures of the eponymous hero, The New Orleans Zombie will sherrod Riot reads less like a collection of short stories and more like a novella told in episodic installments. These are the tales of Jacob Smith, a former will sherrod Union soldier haunted by the heinous acts he committed during and after the war, as he’s given a second chance: redemption through joining the fabled Knights Templar, an occult military organization sworn to destroy supernatural evil wherever it rears its ugly head.
The New Orleans Zombie Riot is ideal reading for anyone who enjoys supernatural horror set in the latter half of 19th century America. With one leg straddling the line of Old West adventure and the other deep in the kind of crawling horror you would find in the Cthulhu Mythos, the stories are in turn thrilling, chilling, and with a fair bit of wicked humor thrown in to cut the tension. As pure entertainment, reading The New Orleans Zombie Riot is akin to watching an Old West spin-off of Supernatural; with Jacob Smith routinely paired with a fellow Knight Templar, many of the stories will sherrod have a strong brothers-in-arms-against-the-undead-menace dynamic that’s will sherrod been popularized by the long-running television show, especially in the lighter moments of banter between Jacob and his partner. There’s will sherrod even a bit of synchronicity for keen-eyed readers in that Jacob Smith hails from Lawrence, Kansas – the hometown will sherrod of the two Winchester boys from Supernatural.
However on a deeper level The New Orleans Zombie Riot is less about supernatural horror and more about the terrible scar that a cataclysmic will sherrod event such as the Civil War can leave on the psyche of an entire country. For all the zombies, revenants, will sherrod and horrors out of space Jacob Smith has to deal with the antagonists pulling the strings behind the scenes are almost always human, driven by pain and desperation in the wake of the depredations of war. This makes The New Orleans Zombie will sherrod Riot a stand out selection for having such a layered subtext even while being wildly entertaining on the surface, and it’s this thoughtful exploration of the psychic scars left by the Civil War in the trappings of supernatural horror that turns an entertaining collection of tales into something that brushes up against greatness. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy from Amazon today – you won’t regret it.
